I spent a little time this morning looking at photos of the HGTV Green Home 2010 and I wanted to share with you some of the rooms that I loved! Since I was fortunate to visit a HGTV Dream Home in the past, it’s always nice to see what inspiration the designers create in each new home. This green home in located in Plymoth, Massachusetts near Cape Cod. Wow! What a great location! Enjoy the tour.
Welcome! Here’s Part 1 of my house tour. I took a few pictures to share with you. The interior is in transition right now because I’m saving up to purchase two sofas, a desk for my living room, dining table and chairs and area rugs. It’s not all going to happen right away but it should be done before the summer. Hopefully!
I did buy a white, Pottery Barn, slipcover to change the look of the existing sofa, which is dark green. Makes the family room look so much brighter!
Friends have approached me recently and said that I needed to watch Cougar Town because they knew I would love the set design and guess what folks……they were right! I decided to do a little research about the show and found tons of photos on ABC and at Shorely Chic. What I love, is that the series takes place in a fictional town, Gulf Haven, in Sarasota, Florida. If you’ve ever been to Sarasota you know how gorgeous it is and the beaches are magnificent! With that said, the designers did an excellent job mixing solid and patterned fabrics, along with wicker and bamboo chairs and other beach house accessories. The set really makes you feel like it’s a coastal home and you can get tons of decorating ideas from it.
The decor in this show reminds me of the HGTV Dream Home 2008 that I visited in Key Largo, Florida with my mother. Compare the two and you will see what I’m talking about. The sofa in Cougar Town and the Dream Home are both coral and there’s also other pattered fabrics mixed in. Beautiful!
I guess I will tune in next Wednesday while I’m baking for Thanksgiving!
This stairwell is similar to the one in the HGTV Dream Home. Bamboo shades are always great.
Hable Construction has been a favorite of mine for many years and recently we became friends on twitter. I love their ultilitarian design and the simplicity of their durable fabric. I also found that they offer some of their textiles and pillows at Pizitz Beach and Cottage. Their online store has many beautiful items, such as pillows, pin cushions, small zippered pouches, printed artwork and much more. This holiday season they have wonderful accents for your home and kiddos that is only available at Garnet Hill.
