From golden hour walks to strawberry cones and seaside naps—here’s what’s filling up my cup this week

Being back on Nantucket feels like a deep exhale—the kind that softens your shoulders and clears your mind. Every moment feels a little more special here. Whether it’s the sound of the waves, the blooming hydrangeas, or just the slower pace, it all feels like summer at its best.

While I’m here, I wanted to share 10 things that have been making this trip especially sweet. From simple rituals to new finds, here’s what I’ve been loving most…

10 Things I’m Loving Right Now on Nantucket

1. Coffee and breakfast at The Brant
We’re staying at The Brant this time, and it’s been such a treat. Every morning starts with coffee and the yummiest breakfast right on the property—think fresh fruit, French pastries, and a quiet reception area/or garden to enjoy it all in. It’s charming and low-key in the best way, and I’ve truly love waking up here.

2. Morning bike rides through town
After breakfast at The Brant, we usually hop on the bikes and ride through town while it’s still quiet and golden. It’s the best way to take in the charm of the island—breezy, peaceful, and full of postcard-worthy views at every turn. There’s something about riding past the shingled cottages and blooming hydrangeas that makes you feel like you’re living in a summer movie.

3. A sun hat I’m wearing on repeat
You’ll spot it in a few of my outfits this week—it’s wide-brimmed, classic, and instantly makes every look feel vacation-ready. Plus, it’s been perfect for my next favorite moment…

4. Falling asleep reading on the beach
One of the best naps I’ve had all year happened right on the sand, book in hand. I was reading Book Lovers under the shade of my hat, the waves humming in the background… and next thing I knew, I was out like a light. Dreamy in every way.

5. Bluff Walk at golden hour
This path never gets old. The soft light, the ocean views, the rows of shingled cottages—it feels like stepping into a Nancy Meyers movie. We’ve walked it a few times already and it still stops me in my tracks.

6. My favorite pair of white jeans and love this pair too
I packed a few, but there’s one pair I keep reaching for again and again. They go with everything—linen tops, stripes, beachy sweaters—and feel just right for island days.

7. Strawberry ice cream from The Juice Bar
It’s become a daily ritual. Nothing hits quite like their strawberry ice cream on a warm afternoon. This time I’m trying to be good and have only one scoop in a cup.

8. Antiquing treasures from Bon Ton
I popped in solo and found the sweetest shell pieces to bring home. I love finding one-of-a-kind decor that reminds me of a special trip—and these definitely fit the bill.

9. Spontaneous dinners in town
While we’ve made only a few reservations, the best nights have been the unplanned ones—when we just walk through town and follow our cravings. It’s a little romantic and a lot relaxing.

10. Feeling inspired again
There’s something about this place that brings me back to my passion. I’ve been feeling so creatively recharged and full of ideas I can’t wait to bring to life. This island always reminds me why I love what I do.

If you’ve been to Nantucket, you know—it’s the kind of place that stays with you.
And if you haven’t yet? These little moments are a great place to start dreaming.

  1. Hello. We’ve been going to Nantucket since 1986 and absolutely love it. It’s nice to know you find it as special. There have been alot of changes over the years, but the essence remains the same. A fun activity is to go to open nights at Loines Observatory to look at the stars and planets. It used to be free, but now they charge a nominal amount. Another fun activity is to Jeep to Great Point Lighthouse with the Trustees of the Reservation tours. The view from the top is amazing. A fun bike ride is to go up to Alter Rock. You may have to push your bike through the sand for the last quarter mile, but the views of the moors and ocean is fabulous. I can relate to your comments about the golden hours. Mine is walking to Mass at St. Mary’s in the morning when all is quiet except for the church bells. Enjoy your trip!
