The 2010 Ultimate Beach House: Seabrook,Washington

October 20, 2010

For the last few years my family and I have rented vacation homes in the summer.  We’ve vacationed in the mountains and on the beach, but one place I would love to stay, is on the coast in the winter.  The 2010 Ultimate Beach House presented by Coastal Living, is just what I have in mind of a northern woodsy beach vacation.  I love the silvery gray colors they chose for many areas in the house.  I think they did a wonderful job in reflecting the color and feel of a northern beach home.  The beach house is located in a quaint new community in Seabrook, Washington and includes beautiful forests and pristine seashores.  The community has options to buy or rent and if you are interested and would like more information about the town visit Seabrook, A New Beach Town.

The interior designer, Tim Clark, used natural beachside driftwood and shells to help him create a color palette for the beach house.  I think it’s a nice change from the blue and white that I usually love in a beach house.

The Front of the House

The dining room is simple, nautical and elegant.

The outside dining area is a perfect space to spend time with family and friends, eat great food and warm up by the fire. Gorgeous!

This is the view of the living room and dining room.  I think having a great room is the best way to go when you are entertaining large groups of people.  Everyone gets a place to sit and can be involved in conversation.

Great modern twist in the kitchen with the furnishings and appliances.  The lighting is perfect!  I love lots of natural light.

Slipcovered chairs are always a favorite of mine.

Love the paneling in this bathroom and the cute little tufted stool.

Master Bath Vanity

The bedding on this master bedroom is a dream.  I especially love white on the bed because you can change the accent pillows or layer it with a throw blanket.

An outdoor shower is another one of my favorite things and the surfboard in this one adds a great color.

Two of Tim Clark’s color palette inspirations were drift wood….
and clam shells.

The forest and the beach? Sounds mighty fun to me. Interesting how he chose his colors, but honey, he needs to add a least one piece of something from the sea in each room. I think in the living room I would have put that Nautilus shell he has tucked away on the shelf on the table with the pine cone — that would say beachy forest to me, lol. Lovely place though.

    Happy Beachy 2011!

Desiree, I love your post. I had to go back and read again where it was because there is a "Seabrook, NH" that is only 25 minutes North of me… but this is Washington. What a beautiful spot. I'm your newest follower and look forward to your future posts! I hope you'll stop by and visit my blog sometime and consider following me back 😉

Oh my, what a great house! I love the colors. The floor even seems to have the silvery gray tone to it. I love the dining room and the wall by the stairs!
