I used to always dream of what it would be like to travel to Nantucket and last week that dream became a reality. My husband and I spent two nights and three days in Nantucket followed by a lovely stay in a Houseboat in Newburyport. We both agree that this getaway was the best vacation the two of us have ever been on. Everything was outstanding and this week I’m going to share all the details of where we stayed, ate, and shopped.
How to Get to Nantucket
We flew from Miami to Boston Logan, rented a car, and drove about an hour and a half to Hyannis Port to catch a ferry over to Nantucket. There are two ways to get to Nantucket. Either you take a ferry from Hyannis Port or you fly there. To be honest, I was a little nervous about the thought of flying in a Cesna to Nantucket, however I learned that taking the Hy-Line high speed ferry from Hyannis Port to Nantucket was an option. It’s a one hour trip that goes by pretty fast, especially on a beautiful day like the day I traveled there. I highly recommend renting a car and purchasing your tickets early. When we arrived in Hyannis, we were told that there was room for an earlier ferry ride to Nantucket, so we switched out our tickets to be able to enjoy more time on the island. I also wanted to mention that they do have offer flights on bigger planes to Nantucket. The route that I was taking did not offer that option, so it depends on where you are flying in from.
The weather was amazing and the ferry was not crowded at all. We sat on the second level outside to enjoy the view of the beautiful homes and sailboats in the harbor. I heard September is a perfect month to visit Nantucket since it’s not as crowded as it is during the summer months.
My Nantucket Travel Look
I had an early flight out of Miami, so I wanted to wear something comfortable for the plane and car ride into Hyannis Port. I wore my new Nantucket sweatshirt and boyfriend jeans (also seen here & here) to help keep me warm in the cool weather. My new Sperry boat shoes proved to be comfortable while traveling too! You can shop the cute sweatshirt on sale now! It’s fits true to size and looks great with jeans or shorts.

What airport did you fly into? Did you rent a car and drive to Hyannis Port, or take a bus/Uber?
