I quit coffee. Cold Turkey. It wasn’t fun and I had all the top ten withdrawals symptoms! You may be asking yourself, “What in the world would make Desiree want to stop drinking coffee?” To answer your question, I started having these hormonal type breakouts on my face around the same time I started drinking coffee four years ago and the other day I prayed that God will help me figure out what’s going on. Last year I had a series of tests done to check for allergies and I found that I’m allergic to some cosmetic products. So anytime I share beauty products here on my blog they have been tested on me and do not cause me to breakout.

I’ve been drinking one cup of decaffeinated tea a day and today I actually feel great. As much as I loved coffee, it would sometimes upset my stomach, probably because I’m was the creamer queen. Soon I would love to try out a decaf coffee, but I don’t think I should even go there yet. I want to be free of coffee for one month to see if there’s a difference and I’m also keeping a journal to see what time of the month the breakout happens. Can you relate? I would love to hear your story.

My husband has been very busy working on little projects around the house and just last week he finished covering the front entryway to our home in left over travertine from our pool deck. It came out better then we thought! He also did a great job with the threshold! Way to go babe!

Now all we have to do is paint the front doors and buy a new light fixture. I’m also looking to buy a new doormat and will be deciding between this one from Pottery Barn or this one from WS.

Ladies this shirtdress is half off the sale price, so it comes out to $55! Actually lots of my favorite looks are sale today too! Check them out below.

Love this pretty print and I bought it in a romper, but I had to exchange it for a bigger size. As soon as it arrives I’ll take some pictures. It’s so pretty in person! You can shop it here and here as a dress.

Ladies, I know this floral romper sold out and I’m not sure if it will become available again, so in the meantime check out this brand new cold shoulder romper in a different but lovely print.

  2. I am so happy I found your blog! I love it!! I actually just ordered the one letter monogrammed door mat from pottery barn yesterday hahah that's so funny! We have a small entry which is why I just went with a T but I would have dome 3 and have gotten a larger one if I had the room. What were you thinking? The citrus is cute as well though! I love your house inspirations!! Stunning!!

    1. Yay! Thank you for stopping by! So funny you ordered the same one ๐Ÿ™‚ I have to check to see how many initials would fit for my doorway. I have a double door entry so that may give me more room. I thought the citrus would be a fun mat to use for late summer ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you again for visiting!

  3. I started getting hormonal acne at the age of 22. For years, I tried product after product and NOTHING worked. I was so self-conscious about the bumps under my skin (mainly on my chin and jaw line)! I finally decided to mention it to my doctor. She said it was hormonal acne and is extremely common. She prescribed Epiduo. It's a cream you put on your face (just the affected areas) at night. 2 weeks later: Gone. NO MORE BUMPS! It was glorious. In the beginning I had to use it every night, but now I use it 3 times a week max. Bumps still gone. Warning: This prescription is really expensive unless you go to their site and print off the coupon. With the coupon, it's $25 for 3 months of product. It's amazing. I highly recommend!

    1. Thank you so much Jenny for sharing your story with us! I'm going to ask my derm about that cream and see if it's something that will work for me as well. I will definitely update everyone on my "no coffee" diet and see if it has made a difference in my skin. Thank you again! ๐Ÿ™‚
