Make online shopping work for you. “I shop for clothes when I have time —early in the morning or late at night. (I like Net-a-porter.com) To avoid buying stuff I won’t wear, I leave things in my basket for a few days. If I keep thinking about them, I buy them.”

Stock up on essentials. “Madewell tanks are just that: made and priced so well. I own lots of colorful ones and wear them constantly.”

Go for stuff that’s practical and cute. “My Nike Free sneakers add a splash of color and slide on fast, perfect for when I’m rushing to catch the school bus. And my favorite cargos are skinny but stretchy, so I can go up or down a few pounds and they still fit!”
