Spring Entertaining and Dining

Hi there! It’s Tina from The Enchanted Home. Well first I have to say I am totally thrilled and honored to have been asked by my chic and stylish friend, Desiree to guest post as a regular contributing editor to her blog. I am so happy to be here today and to christen my presence here, I am posting on one of my favorite subjects, outdoor entertaining. I mean I think its safe to say we are all so happy spring is finally here. For me, in my neck of the woods, to say its been a long winter is a serious understatement. It has dragged on for far too long.

I am ready to breath in the invigorating spring air, smell that unmistakable scent of fresh cut green grass, see flowers coming to life and hear the new found energy in the birds chirps. All undeniable signs that spring has indeed (and finally) sprung. I love nothing more than sitting outside to dine….no matter how casual, everything tastes better al fresco! So today a post about spring entertaining, dining and enjoying!

1. Bring on the flowers!

Gorgeous tulips are like springs poster child…….any room is all the prettier with them! Weddingbee

Even the simplest arrangements are a wonderful way to celebrate springs beauty, Charming spaces

Bringing in cut daffodils is a wonderful way to celebrate spring at any table, Stone Gable

Love the idea of cutting off any blossoming branches, even done simply as done here, they are simply gorgeous.

Get a beautiful bowl and fill  with decorated or undecorated eggs next to some spring blossoms, simple!

Flowers are the ultimate way to add some spring-y beauty to your dining table. Whether its venturing into your yard and cutting branches or stopping off a your local grocer or florist,  I love having something blooming on my tables… a sure sign that spring has arrived!

Love candles and I really like the idea of burning a few candles in rooms you are in often of spring flower scents like daffodils, lilies or tulips. If you are eating outside, I love adding one or two outdoors, besides offering pretty lighting (and flattering) helps the outdoors to smell sooo good!

Spring is a great time to invest in some beautiful new place mats and napkins with a clean, light and airy feel. Time to put away all the dark gloomy colors of winter and bring on the fresh and crisp feeling of spring!

4. Light healthy cooking

And Spring is the perfect time to start enjoying light simple foods.
Leave behind all the decadent comfort foods and start this season with a
lighter, healthier way of eating.  Your family will thank you:) And so will your clothing size~!

5. Pretty new serving pieces

There are so many gorgeous spring/warm weather inspired serving pieces. I say invest in a few at the start of the season and get a good 6 months out of the season (spring and summer). A wonderful beverage holder is both practical and pretty. New melamine dinnerware, pretty pieces for your table both inside and out make even the simplest dishes taste that much better!

There are so many wonderful and beautiful ways to add a touch of spring to your home. Whether its burning a spring scented candle, picking up a small bouquet of fresh seasonal flowers, trying some lighter new recipes, investing in some pretty new dinnerware for al fresco dining, setting a table with freshly colored crisp linens or filling a fun container with your favorite beverages….these are all ways to announce and celebrate springs arrival! A time for renewal and a time for enjoying the great outdoors in style. Thanks to everyone for stopping in and to sweet Desiree to having me here. Wishing everyone a fabulous spring day.
