Surfer Chic Beach House
I was thrilled beyond belief when my September issue of House Beautiful arrived the other day and low & behold….there was a beautiful beach house inside! Yes, there’s still time to savor the feeling of summer and everything that comes along with it….sun, sand, more sun and beautiful summer beach house design and inspiration.
This colorful beach house was inspired by the 60’s California surfer chic look. The designer, Mona Ross Berman, based the hues for the home starting with the retro stripes in the dining room table. How fun is that! Click here to read the interview with the designer.

Berman based her palette on the orange, yellow, turquoise, and white tabletop. “In a summer home you have greater license to have fun, be irreverent. The ‘surfer’ part is a laid-back feeling. The ‘chic’ is taking all those elements and distilling them in a new way.”
I love this home…..it’s fun, vibrant and chic!

I don't subscribe to House Beautiful, but I need a copy of this one for sure! Love, love, love the color combinations. I have been drawn to the softer oranges and aquas lately!

I LOVED these rooms so clean and bright with pops of color here and there. My only question is….where is the lighting in the kitchen and living room??
