The movie Something’s Gotta Give is continuing to stir up decorating emotions. The idea behind the design of this urban apartment, which overlooks the Manhattan skyline, is that it is a continuation of the love story between Harry (Jack Nicholson) and Erica (Diane Keaton). The designers were inspired to create a space for them now that they are married. Both of their homes were so brilliantly decorated in the movie and let’s face it, we love the storyline, but we watched it over and over again for the decorating. This ultra chic design project was created for House Beautiful as part of showhouse project called, Designer Vision: Cinema Style. I love how they blended both Erica’s style of using light blue in some of the upholstery and slipcovering a sectional with Harry’s more modern sleek edge with darker tones.
The blue touches that they added throughout the apartment, such as in the living room, starting with the blue side chair and in the dining room with the powder blue Avington chargers are, for me, what made this apartment beautiful. The designers used just the right amount of color in each room. Bravo!
You can see more of this gorgeous New York apartment at House Beautiful. I personally love all the details! What’s your take on this apartment in the Big Apple?
