Ever get in a rut with exercising? Well, I’m in one now, however I’m pulling myself out of it after looking at pictures of me from just a year and a half ago when I was working out at least six times a week. Sometimes a lag in exercise can be triggered by a stressful event and mine started when my father-in-law got really sick last April and ended up in the hospital for a month and a half. I spent more time praying than exercising- and what I should have done was pray and exercise at the same time. After he was well and came home, I teased him about being the reason why I gained ten pounds. Bless his heart!
So, I decided to check out some photos of me being in much better shape and thinking of how I got there. Back then I exercised six times a week for at least one hour. Did I watch my eating? Sometimes, however not all the time.
I used to work out my arms every other day with either 5 or 10 pound weights. I felt the ten pound weight gave me faster results.
I miss these legs and to get them to look like that, I did about 100 lunges at least three times a week. I also did step up exercises on a bench a few times a week.

You always look great! All my life I had a good metabolism and could basically eat anything I wanted. Now that I am in my 40's it has definitely slowed down and I could probably lose 10 pounds now. I have always eaten pretty healthy but it's the exercising that I have problems with. I just cannot get motivated to do more than walk. I'll join you in getting back in shape – I would love for my legs to look like yours in that last picture!

Can you tell us more about the exercises that you do? Do you go to the gym at all? I really shouldn't pay for a gym membership at this point, so I'm looking for exercises for my legs that I can do at home.

You look amazing! While we eat pretty healthy around here, I lack in the exercise department. And, agree with Shelley, after turning 40 (7 years ago) my metabolism too slowed down and top that with a thyroid issue the weight came on. I too would love to know more about your workouts as I prefer to do mine at home.
