Summer 2012 Road Trip…

July 11, 2012

I wanted to share a few (a lot of) photos with you from my recent road trip.  We were fortunate enough to have returned safely back to Florida after driving through ten states within twenty-two days and I owe that to my husband for being such a great driver…love you hun.  Our first stop, heading north, was at a gorgeous beach near Fernandina Beach, Florida where we hiked four miles.  I would have taken more photos of myself on the beach but the wind was so strong my hair whipped up into a huge mess after only spending hours getting it vacation ready…lol 🙂

Next stop, NC to visit my Dad, step-mother and sister.  My father was in town from Africa, where he is currently working.  My step-mother was the sweetest hostess and cooked us delicious meals. Each one was out-of-this-world! The photo above was the Italian feast she prepared including, eggplant parmesan. I must get the recipe from her and share it!  Crazy good!
{coffee in hand, a little country music on the radio…on our way to Cooperstown, NY}
{lake house view}
{getting the kayak ready for a ride in the lake}
{baseball hall of fame}

{one of many bonfires my boys and the teenage girls built}

{One of our amazing wins in Cooperstown! Funny how winning always make you happy in baseball…}

{another gorgeous fire courtesy of my boys and the girls :)}

{first sighting of fresh peonies in Cooperstown}
{the baseball team played wiffle ball in this beautiful park in Copperstown}
{photography practice on the beach in NY}

{my new shell collection…these were whoppers}

{my girl cousins in NY decided to treat me to a little day trip to Southampton…we had a great time in the car talking about life and what we are currently reading…love these girls}
{…and here’s a big Thank You to my blogging BFF, Tina from THE ENCHANTED HOME, for recommending where to go while we were there! As always, you’re the best sweetie!}

{it wouldn’t be considered a shopping trip to me unless there was a J.Crew involved…}
{I tried on this cute ikat t-shirt dress}

{my favorite hydrangeas grow everywhere in the Hamptons…jealous}
{ordered a few bottles of wine with the girls…}

{had a delicious, yummy dinner in Southampton}
{we were on our way to the Mountains in NC, but took the wrong exit coming out of Long Island and guess where we ended up? I thought my husband was going to blow his top, but we just all laughed so hard! That was funny! New York, New York…hahaha}

{Hooker Falls…NC}

{we hiked the falls where the Hunger Games was filmed…Triple Falls and Hooker Falls}

{my hiking gear}
{sunset view from the house}

{J.Crew whisper linen cardigan and striped romper (old)}
{game nights with the family}
{fresh blueberries}
Thank you for stopping by! I’m back so stay tuned!
XO,
Desiree

    Try viewing this post on Google Chrome. The photos should show up that way. Not sure why they aren't showing up on Internet Explorer or my iPhone?
