My Winter Get-A-Way…

January 5, 2013

I just arrived back into town late last night from a winter trip to Palm Coast near St. Augustine, Florida. We stayed on Cinnamon Beach which was named after it’s beach sand color.  It was the first time we planned a trip to stay ocean-side in the winter and we weren’t really sure what to pack, so we pretty much brought everything we owned! I didn’t get to wear this sheer stripe tunic, but there will be plenty of other opportunities to wear it back home! It’s in the 80’s now in Miami!

Here are just a few images I took with my new camera…I only shot on auto because I still need to learn how to use it. I wanted to capture the simple coastal landscaping and the gorgeous beach houses.

This home was right on the ocean! My husband and I both agreed that it was our favorite in this little community.

This home had a view of the ocean…loved the design and the fact that the top floor was painted a different color from the bottom.

Even though our family played scrabble and Battle of the Sexes into the wee hours of the night, I still managed to get up at the break of dawn to take a few shots of the beautiful sunrise everyday…

each morning held a different point of view….

Note: take the picture while you can because the streams of light coming through the clouds will be different tomorrow.

to me this was breathtaking…

This shot was taken on the last morning of 2012…
I thought it was a great way to start the last day of the year.

There’s always someone around who has great fireworks! These were perfect while we banged pots and pans to ring in the new year on the beach!

Here I am…pretending I know how to use my camera…Actually I was trying on clothes at the J.Crew Factory store in St. Augustine. If you want to see what treated myself to, check these out!
1 | 2 in black | 3 in citrus lime and bohemian red | 4 | 5 in heather graphite and a darker gray
The denim jacket I’m wearing is here.

What a great place to get away to. Looks wonderful! I love the shots of the sun shining throught the clouds. So pretty.
I recently purchased a new camera too, and have no clue how to use it.
