Those of you who have been reading my blog for a long time know how much I love all of Nancy Meyer’s movies! It’s so exciting to know that she has a new movie out and of course any movie she directs has gorgeous interiors to inspire us. If you saw Something’s Gotta Give, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. That movie was the inspiration behind me starting this blog. The classic Hamptons beach house that we all fell in love with was the driving point of so many interiors designers and home renovations.
You also may have loved the design behind, The Holiday and It’s Complicated. Not only are her movies classically funny but the signature design throughout them have us wanting to redo our homes by the time the movie is over. Each home is so warm and inviting.
Here’s a little excerpt from a Q&A Nancy Meyer’s did with One King’s Lane.
“After Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday, and It’s Complicated, I was ready for a change of pace. I felt a bit written out on love stories but still wanted to write about a relationship, and I found writing about friendship really interesting. What makes two people bond in that way? And so I set out to write about a friendship between Robert De Niro’s character, a retired widower who finds being retired difficult and volunteers to be an intern at a start-up, and Anne Hathaway’s character, the founder of the start-up where he does his internship.”
