Good morning sweeties! Today’s outfit post was shot in Roatan, Honduras. Have any of you ever been there? I have to say it was by far the most educational of all the stops on our Western Caribbean cruise itinerary, as I have never been to a developing country. The port, where these photos were taken, was absolutely beautiful and the people were so kind. I actually didn’t know what to expect and was grateful that our short time there was pleasant.
We opted to hire a taxi driver to take us on a tour around the island and it was amazing! Shelford, our driver, was such a blessing and he even sang us a country song! Ha ha! He took us to all of the best spots on the island, including the highest point of the island where we could look down to the ocean. The sight was beautiful! We even drove on the beach, which some of you may have seen on my Instastories.
We saw children of all ages walking to school dressed in their school uniforms. Shelford said many of them walk up to two miles to school everyday! I saw children as young as five years old walking up and down the mountain to school happy as can be, many laughing with their friends. As difficult as it was to see how people are living in what may be considered ‘third world’, it was a blessing to see the joy in their faces, including Shelford. Shelford was one of the most kind, smartest people I ever met. My husband and boys thought this island tour of Roatan was the highlight of the entire trip.
Now let’s chat about what I wore for my day trip in Honduras. I featured this white eyelet tassel top earlier this summer and knew that I had to pack it for the cruise. And right before I left for vacation I ordered these shorts from LOFT and was so happy I did! They stretch. Hello! On a cruise you need some stretchy pants. Ha ha!
My lovely straw bag was a gift from my friends at Mark & Graham. The crochet multi colored straps make it so special and perfect to mix and match with lots of vacation looks. It also folds flat for easy storage, althought I don’t think I’ll be storing mine away anytime soon. I wore it the whole week on the cruise and loved that it held all of my stuff and had room for more. It was even strong enough to hold my camera. It comes in three different strap colors to choose from, mine is called rainbow.

Thank you friends for visiting me today! I’m going to have a recap of our entire cruise soon, so if you have any questions about the Norwegian Escape, please send them my way and I’ll do my best to answer all of your questions. You may also want to check out yesterday’s blog post featuring a pretty lace tunic cover-up I wore in Harvest Caye, Belize. Thank you and have a blessed day! XO, Desiree
