Hi everyone! I apologize my posts are going out later than normal. Here in Italy most of my day is planned out and the only time I have to polish up the posts I prepared in advance is late at night before I go to sleep. I can’t wait to share more with you about my trip when I get back to the states! Tonight, we had dinner in the Tuscany hills and the way there was out of this world beautiful. It’s hard to describe such a beautiful place. The food was delicious and the wine was fantastico (Italians say this all the time)! I was almost temped to ship bottles of wine home for my anniversary and I may just do that. I’m going to give you all the details of this trip, including where we ate and the delicious wine we enjoyed tonight.
So today, I want to share a healthy treat to enjoy this spring. I started making almond milk & berry smoothies years ago when I used to run a lot. I think these smoothies are a great way to fill up on something cool when I’m trying to eat healthier. All you have to do is mix one cup of almond milk and one cup of frozen berries. You can use fresh berries as well. It’s so easy and refreshing. I personally like to use unsweetened almond milk. For me, the purpose of this smoothie is to have organic berries and no extra sugar in the almond milk. If you want to use sweetened almond milk that’s perfectly fine as long as you’re a happy camper.
One of the best things I’ve learned about making smoothies is that you can use any old blender to make them. I’ve been using this blender for years and it works great to create a delicious smoothie every time.
I hope you enjoyed this almond milk & berry smoothie recipe today. If you like this recipe, then you must check out my green smoothie recipe too! Have a beautiful, blessed day everyone! XO, Desiree
