Good morning everyone! I’m so happy to be back with another Coffee Talk with Desi #15. I’ve gotten so many great questions and I’m happy to answer them for you. So, let’s get started!
Looking for some ideas for my daughter’s graduation, any thoughts? Have a great weekend!
This is such a great question, because my son is graduating too! How exciting! Well, I’m not sure where you live, but in Florida graduation day is hot, hot, hot! Steaming hot, so I usually wear a sleeveless dress. I picked out some dresses I would be interested in wearing below. I love a pretty bold color for summer and ruffles, so you’ll see some of those looks here as well. Let me know what you think.
Here is a question: How do you keep your skin and making looking great all day after a long day at work whether it be at the office or in the classroom. I am a High School teacher and find by the end of the day, I look so exhausted. Any great tips would be great!
Wonderful question! I think the key is to have a great moisturizer and foundation. My everyday moisturizer is called Sheer Renewal Cream by Colleen Rothschild. It literally changed my skin for the better, since I started using it a few years ago. Then I use Laura Mercier foundation. I’ve been using her foundation for a few years after trying out her line for a collaboration I was doing. The exact foundation was either updated or discontinued, so I ordered this one and I love it! It’s a full cover foundation that lasts all day. My make-up literally looks pretty good at night from my morning application. No exaggeration.
One tip I would suggest after using a great moisturizer and foundation and touching up with a dab of fresh blush, powder, and lipstick throughout the day. This helps to keep that glow you created in the morning.
We are going to Islamorada in May! Can you tell me what restaurant you went to, where you ate the shrimp and crab cakes?
Ohhh those were delicious! Make sure you wear something stretchy. LOL! It’s called Whale Harbor Seafood Buffet. Let me know what you think if you decide to go there. The restaurant has been around for years, however it was just renovated.
Thank you for sharing your travel diary to Italy! It looks amazing. Being a former Art major, Italy has always been my dream. I checked out the Gate1Travel site and they look pretty good! I have a question: Did you feel rushed through out the tour? How do they pace themselves? I know that there is a lot of ground to cover, so naturally they have to go somewhat quickly. Also, do you have time to yourselves each day after the your? I’m seriously thinking of booking, so thank you so much for posting this.
Thank you so much! It was an amazing trip! I trip of a lifetime for sure and I’m definitely planning on going back. I was very pleased with Gate 1 Travel and for the most part, I didn’t feel rushed. However, there were times, because I’m a blogger, that I wished I had more time to take photos. I have to admit there were a couple of times where I almost lost my group, because I was trying to get in some ‘blog shots’. LOL! We saw so much in 11 days and it was worth it. We did have at least a half day to ourselves to enjoy each city. If I ever decide to take a tour again it will be with Gate1 Travel. Here is the exact tour I went on.
Now that you’re back, I’d love to know how you liked the Tretorns! I’m looking for something really comfy!
I love my Tretorns! I wore them for hours each day in Italy and they were surprisely light weight and comfortable. I ordered them in my regular size and wore them without socks. They’re my go-to sneaker to wear when I’m running errands.
Where will you tour on your next trip to Italy?!
I loved my trip and really want to go back with my husband and boys. They’re going to love Italy! There’s no place like it in the world! I feel like I should do a similar trip, because I want them to experience everything I saw while I was there. I definitely would add a day or two before and after the trip to explore more of Positano and Venice.
Planning our trip and wondering how many days are enough for Venice? Will have my 13 year old daughter along with my husband and I. We are flying into Venice then making way to Florence to visit older daughter on summer session there. Fantastic pictures and wardrobe suggestions!
We were in Venice for two days and I could have stayed there longer. If I were you, I would have at least 3 days there, so that you can see Burano! Your daughter will love it there, because it so colorful! We didn’t get to see that island. We went to Murano and saw the glass blowers, which was amazing.
