Happy Friday everyone! Today, I’m sharing my Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast Travel Diary with photos taken with my iPhone X. It was a beautiful way to end this trip and I’ll always be so grateful to the Lord for allowing this opportunity to see such a lovely country. As I said before… I can’t wait to go back! You can see the rest of my Italy travel diaries in case you missed any or want to see them again: Venice, Florence, Rome.
Before we arrived in Sorrento, we stopped in the city of Pompeii which was so interesting seeing the ancient ruins and learning about what happened there in 79 A.D. We also saw archeologists carefully excavating different areas. It was neat to see the tile work the ancient people designed there, because it looked much like the marble designs we use to this day.
In Sorrento, we stayed at the Hotel Cristina and quickly hopped in a van to check out the town. Of course the first thing you see are beautiful orange trees lining the streets. The girls and I bought our Sorrento sweatshirts, then attended mass. This was the second time we attended mass in Italy. The first time was in Venice the day we arrived. Attending mass each week is very important to me and whenever we travel we always find a Catholic Church nearby.
After mass, we ate dinner at this lovely restaurant called, Ristorante Parrucchiano. This restaurant is gorgeous! Click here to check it in the daytime. The food was delicious, so I highly recommend it. Even the bathrooms had beautiful tiles on the floor!
The next morning we headed to Almafi and did the whole Amalfi coast drive of beautiful winding roads on the edge of a cliff. I know some people call it scary, because it’s so high up, however I was in heaven taking in all the sights and sounds. There was no time for me to be scared or car sick. That was by the Grace of God for sure! I usually get car sick and hate heights, but during this trip none of that bothered me. Thank you Jesus!
PRO TIP: Sit on the right side when driving towards Amalfi, so that you can see everything out of the window. And on the way back to Sorrento sit on the left side of the vehicle you’re traveling in. This will allow you to have a full view of the beautiful coast line.
We made a couple of stops along the way and found these GIGANTIC Amalfi lemons at a fruit stand. They must be so yummy, because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake required 200 of them for the lemon curd. How wonderful is that!
Here I am, overlooking beautiful Positano! A dream come true. One day I will get to walk around this quaint little coastal town! My dream stay with be at Le Sirenuse. I’ve done posts about this beautiful hotel in the past. See more here!
We made it to the town of Amalfi and the first thing I did was grab is a cup of Italian brewed coffee… and a gelato of course.
After our beautiful day in Amalfi, we headed out to our farewell dinner with the tour. I was finally able to wear something a little springy (even though it was very cold outside). The outfit I’m wearing is perfect for a summer day in Italy (just not in March when I was there). Lol!

How funny you mentioned about the Amalfi lemons. I just heard on the news this morning about the royal cake being lemon and elderflower and how many lemons was required to make the cake. The pictures of the coast are beautiful.

Thank you Leslie! Yes, I read that right before I finished this post. The lemons were incredible! I’m so happy that you loved the photos! XO

Thank you for this post and pics. I took me back to when my husband and I traveled to the Amalfi coast in 2013 and made me smile. We fell in love with Sorrento, Pistano, and Ravello. I really like the striped dress you were on the last day and how you paired it with the striped cardigan.

What a wonderful trip for you and your hubby! I’ll have to check out Ravello, because I heard many great things about it. I’m happy you liked that outfit. I wish I had more chances to wear springy looks there, however it was too cold. I learned my lesson for sure. LOL!
