I love getting recharged fitness-wise as we transition from summer to fall. The first thing I do is make a plan and try my best to stick with it. The next thing I do is get the perfect summer-to-fall activewear gear of the season (also mentioned here). These new activewear styles include bottoms, running shoes, socks, sports bras, t-shirts, and hats. I hope this post is helpful to you as you make your plans on getting active this season.

The Perfect Running Shoes For Stability
I’ve been wearing Asics GT-2000 running shoes for over 10 years. I tried others and they could not live up to the benefits these Asics GT-2000 running shoes offer. I first got fitted for them at a running store, which is when I learned my feel pronate and I needed a running shoe that offers stability support. While I’m not running these days, I still use these sneakers for the long walks I do each day at the park. I just ordered a new pair for the summer-to-fall season in white/pick salt and they are GORGEOUS! For size reference, I go up one full size if I’m using these sneakers for running, otherwise I order them a half size up for walking.
The Best Socks to Wear With Running Shoes
These Zella socks have been the perfect sock for me to wear with my running shoes while I walk in the park. If I were training for a marathon, I’m not so sure I would wear these. The reason for this is, you really need a supportive sock when running long distances. Since I did not use these socks when I ran my marathons, I can not recommend them for that. However, for walking and workouts at home or the gym, these socks are perfect.
The Best Shorts I’ve found for Working Out
I’ve tried all kinds of workout shorts and the shorts I love to wear that are most comfortable in this Miami heat I live in are these live in high waist pocket Zella bike shorts. They always have lots of fun colors to choose from and this early-fall collection may be their best yet. I own them in two colors- black and blue thistle and just ordered three more pairs in the prettiest colors to wear as we move from summer-to-fall (shown in the collage). Another reason you should buy these Zella bike shorts, is that they have two roomy side pockets to hold your iPhone, ear buds, and keys. This was a big selling point for me when I first tried them out. For size reference, I wear them in a medium, because I do not like them to feel too tight.
Sports Bras For Women Who Need Lots of Support
Choosing the right sports bra can be so hard sometimes for large breasted women who need lots of support. To be real honest here, I feel like I haven’t found the perfect sports bra that is supportive enough for natural breasts. However, there is one sports bra that I found to offer me enough support to feel comfortable when I exercise and it’s this Wacoal Underwire Sports Bra. This bra runs small, so make sure you order one size up in this one. I also linked another sports bra I found that works well if I wear two of them together. Yes, you read that right. Ha ha! Wearing one of them offers me no support at all, but if I wear two of them, I feel like they give me enough support while walking in the park.
Simple, Easy T-shirts to Wear Over Your Sports Bras When You Work Out
I like to wear simple t-shirts over my sports bras when I work out. These Zella t-shirts are super comfortable and wash really well. They’re flattering and functional and have a longer hem in the back for added coverage. Shop it in a variety of colors to match all of your bike shorts.
Some Hats You Can Wear For Outdoor Workouts
I always wear a baseball hat when my workouts are outdoors. When I trained for my marathons, I wore a reflective hat similar to this one, in order for people to see me early in the morning, while it was still dark outside. Now, I just wear cute baseball hats that are super simple in design like this one from J.Crew. I have it in a rose color and just ordered it in ivory. I also have a Boston Red Sox hat I bought at the Logan airport years ago that I wear all the time.
