A SUNSET DINNER IN ISLAMORADA

Happy Sunday! I hope you enjoyed the time change today. I love, love, love this time of the year here in Miami and getting to drive down to the Florida Keys with my husband. The Keys is about an hour or so from our home, so spending time there feels like a relaxing, short getaway. I thought it would be wonderful to enjoy as sunset dinner in Islamorada this weekend.

My husband suggested we try a new restaurant to us called, The Square Grouper. The restaurant is located in Islamorada and opens for dinner at 5:00 pm. We arrived about 25 minutes early and waited in line until it opened. Thankfully we did, because by the time the restaurant opened there was a huge line behind us.

After we enjoyed a delicious meal at The Square Grouper, we drove down the street to Morada Bay to catch the end of the sunset. The sky was painted in beautiful ombre shades of pink and purple as you can see in the photo above. Just incredible!

Here’s our beautiful view at, The Square Grouper. My husband and I agreed that we had the best seat in the house! The service was incredible and the food was delicious! Plus, we got to experience the sun starting to set as we enjoyed our dinner.

This is the first time I’ve ever tried oysters Rockefeller and they were so delicious! I can’t wait to go back and have more of these.

I’ve been trying to eat healthy and ordered this farm fresh salad with grilled shrimp and it was delicious! It’s big enough to share, however I practically ate the whole salad myself!

My husband and I always try to save room for dessert while we’re in the Keys, especially if key lime pie is on the menu. This one was so yummy!

Perfect Dress to Wear to Dinner in the Keys

I suggest wearing a flowy dress when you’re visiting the Keys, because it can be hot. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful yesterday and not humid, so I wore this vacation dress with the cutest spaghetti straps. The dress was breezy and perfect for enjoying a sunset dinner on the water. Plus, it has smocking in the back, which makes it super comfortable. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
