Every summer, Nantucket feels like a little reset for me—a chance to slow down, soak in the beauty of the island, and enjoy those simple joys that make summer so special. I’ve been counting down the days, and this year I’m even more excited because I’m planning to try some new things, revisit favorite spots, shop some gifts, and really take the time to enjoy it all.
In the past, I’ve sometimes felt like I packed my Nantucket days too full—trying to do all the things, see all the places, and check off every spot on my list. And while it was fun, I’d come home wishing I’d built in more time to just be on the island—long walks, slow mornings, and lingering over dinner.
What I’m Most Looking Forward to This Summer on Nantucket
This summer, I’m approaching the trip with a little more intention. I’m excited to try new restaurants, explore spots I haven’t been to before, and make space for long walks and runs before dinner or first thing in the morning (there’s nothing like those salty breezes!). I’ll still be working a little while I’m there, but I’m keeping it light—snapping photos, taking notes, and gathering inspiration for Beautifully Seaside, without being tied to the computer. I want to stay present and soak in all the moments that make Nantucket summer so magical.
What I love most about Nantucket is that no matter how many times I visit, it always feels fresh and inspiring. This trip is about slowing down, trying new things, meeting up with friends, and savoring the island’s charm in that relaxed, easygoing way I’ve been craving.
