Good morning, happy Monday and welcome to my new summer series! One of the missions I have this summer is to get healthier by exercising and watching what I eat. I’ve spent the last year eating whatever and exercising here and there. And guess what, the outcome of that was weight gain. Twelve pounds to be exact and maybe more, because now I refuse to step on a scale.
It’s a simple science- in order to stay fit I need to eat healthier and exercise at least six days a week. I’ve proved it to myself before when I followed that routine and that’s what drives me now. So I hope you will join me on this journey of exercising and eating healthier this summer! I’ll make sure to update you every Monday for the entire summer!
Let’s start! First thing I did was put together a yummy breakfast bowl early this morning to start off my day. I added Greek yogurt, fresh strawberries, a small banana and some walnuts. It was the perfect summer morning treat while reading my daily devotions (another mission I have that I’ll share with you on Sunday).
Then, I worked on my arms and abs using Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide. I’m really excited about using her program, because I’ve seen so many girls have great results from this training. I just started Kayla’s workout last week, however now that I’m off from teaching in the summer, I will have more time to workout. Her workout takes 28 minutes to complete, which is perfect! I bought the PDF version, because it was only $52 and saved it in my iBooks on my iPhone and laptop. This way, I’ll have easy access to the program when I travel this summer.
After the #BBG workout, I went for a hour long walk/run in the heat! What a great feeling to be getting back to working out and feeling better about how my clothes fit.
I don’t plan on weighing myself, instead I’ll use a pair of J.Crew shorts I wore years ago to gauge how I’m doing. Right now those shorts don’t go past my thighs! LOL!
For lunch, I just grabbed whatever I had in the fridge to make a salad, then I drizzled balsamic vinegar and a little olive oil for the dressing. Later today I plan on going to the grocery store to buy fruits and vegetables that will help me get to my fitness goal.

Since I’m getting back to exercising, I realized that new workout clothes were in order! So, I ordered this sports bra, sneakers, shorts and breezy tank top. Shop more work out clothes here.
Thank you for visiting me today! Hope you have the best week! XO

I am right there with you. I am so so busy every day that I barely make any time for myself to stay fit and now I am not happy with the result of that! I'm glad you've begun this series, it will help me keep motivated. I never weigh myself. I also use clothing that I know I should fit into as a gauge for how well I'm keeping to my goals. Keep up the great work! I look forward to your fitness snaps too, because daily motivation is where it's at! Thank you!!!
