10 J.Crew and Madewell Fall Styles I Bought and Love
Fall fashion is always my favorite to shop for. Even though it still feels like summer here in Miami, I love dreaming about crisp days, cozy sweaters, beautiful shades of brown, and all the classic layers that make this season feel so special.
This year, I found some beautiful fall styles at J.Crew and Madewell that I know I’ll wear throughout the season and for years to come. I’ve been especially drawn to warm chocolate brown, soft neutrals, and classic accessories that can make even the simplest outfit feel polished.
I also have a fall trip to New York coming up for a family wedding, so it was the perfect excuse to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. Along with attending the wedding, we’ll be spending time with our cousins and enjoying family gatherings—which will most likely include lots of delicious Italian food! I wanted comfortable pieces that I could easily mix and match while still feeling put together.

A Chunky Beaded Necklace in a Rich Fall Brown
Accessories are one of the easiest ways to update pieces you already have. This chunky beaded necklace immediately caught my eye because the rich brown color feels so perfect for fall.
It adds warmth and interest to a simple tank or sweater without making the outfit feel overdone. I especially love how it looks with soft taupe, ivory, navy, and denim.
This is a small detail that can completely change an outfit, and I know I’ll be wearing it with many of my fall looks.
Classic Chocolate-Brown Suede Slingback Heels
These chocolate-brown suede slingback kitten heels may be one of my favorite purchases of the season. The pointed toe feels polished, while the kitten heel makes them much more practical for dinners, family gatherings, and dressier occasions.
Brown is having such a beautiful moment this fall, but it’s also a timeless neutral that will never really go out of style. These heels will look gorgeous with jeans and a sweater, tailored pants, or a fall dress.
I’m especially excited to bring them on my New York trip because they can dress up several different outfits without taking up too much room in my suitcase.

A Soft Neutral Leather Bag
A classic leather bag is another piece that can make an everyday outfit look more polished. I love the simple shape and creamy neutral color of this one. It’s understated, versatile, and easy to carry.
The color works beautifully with all the warm fall shades I’m loving right now, including chocolate brown, camel, ivory, and olive green. It would be just as pretty with a casual jeans-and-sweater outfit as it would with a dressier look.
I also appreciate a bag that doesn’t feel overly trendy. This is a style I’ll be able to use beyond one season.
The Perfect Everyday Tank for Layering
A great tank top may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about fall fashion, but it’s one of my most-worn layering pieces—especially while the weather is still warm in Miami.
I love the rich neutral shade of this J.Crew tank. It looks beautiful worn alone with jeans and the chunky beaded necklace, but it can also be layered underneath a cardigan, blazer, or sweater jacket.
The earthy color makes it feel perfect for fall without being too heavy for warmer days.

A Classic Canvas Tote for Fall Getaways
You already know how much I love a classic canvas tote—especially one in navy and ivory. It has that timeless New England look that always reminds me of Nantucket and coastal getaways.
A roomy tote is perfect for traveling, visiting family, or carrying everything needed for a fall day out. I love how the navy trim coordinates with denim, sweaters, sneakers, and loafers.
It’s practical, but it still fits beautifully with the polished coastal style I love.
A Cozy Neutral V-Neck Sweater
A soft neutral sweater is one of the best pieces to have in a fall wardrobe. I love the relaxed V-neck and the subtle knit detailing on this one. The color will work beautifully with blue jeans, white denim, trousers, and even a simple skirt.
For a casual family gathering, I would wear it with vintage-inspired wide-leg jeans and ballet flats. It would also look beautiful layered over a button-down shirt when the weather gets cooler.
This is the kind of timeless fall sweater I can picture reaching for year after year.

A Navy Jacket With Corduroy Details
A navy jacket is such a useful fall layer, and I love the chocolate-brown corduroy details on this one. Navy and brown are one of my favorite color combinations for creating a timeless coastal fall look.
The shape feels polished enough to wear out to lunch or a family gathering but casual enough for everyday errands and travel. I would style it with a gray sweater, vintage-wash jeans, and either ballet flats or sneakers.
This is another versatile jacket that will work with so many pieces I already own.
A Quilted Plaid Jacket With Corduroy Trim
This quilted plaid jacket may be the piece that gives me the biggest New England fall feeling. I love the blue-and-brown plaid, cozy quilting, and contrasting corduroy trim.
It will be perfect over a sweater or simple long-sleeve tee with jeans and flats. The traditional plaid makes it feel classic and preppy, while the relaxed shape keeps it comfortable.
This is the kind of jacket that makes an entire outfit. You can keep everything else simple and let the beautiful pattern be the focal point.

A Denim Jacket With a Corduroy Collar
It has been a long time since I owned a denim jacket, and this one is perfect all around. The corduroy collar and sleeve details give it a beautiful fall update while keeping the jacket classic and easy to wear.
I love that it feels more special than a basic denim jacket but will still work with almost everything in my wardrobe. I can wear it with a tank and jeans now, then layer it over a sweater when the weather gets cooler.
This is exactly the kind of casual fall jacket I’ll wear for traveling, spending time with family, and everyday outings.
Chocolate-Brown Suede Ballet Flats
These suede ballet flats are both comfortable and stylish, which is always the best combination. I love the rich chocolate-brown color and the simple shape that makes them so versatile.
They’ll look beautiful with straight-leg jeans, wide-leg denim, trousers, and casual fall dresses. They’re also available in more colors, but the brown immediately caught my eye for fall.
Ballet flats are an easy way to make a casual outfit feel polished while still being comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.

A Deep-Green Suede Bag
Deep green is another color I’m loving this fall, and this suede bag is such a beautiful way to add it to an outfit. The sleek shape feels fresh, but the rich color and soft suede give it a timeless quality.
I can picture carrying it with denim, an ivory sweater, chocolate-brown flats, or even the plaid quilted jacket. It adds seasonal color without being difficult to style.
This is another piece I’m planning to bring to New York because it can take an everyday outfit from simple to special.
