Good morning friends! Happy Monday!
Today I’m sharing a fun little summer paint project I worked on this summer with Clare.
I wanted to update two pieces in my home after my inspirational visit to Charleston in June. Also the fact that I really wanted to break out from having everything white in my house, I dreamed up added a bit of color to make my home feel more cozy.
What I love about Clare, is that they make it easy to pick out a color. They have a selection of paint colors that are curated by an expert to make shopping easier for us. The fact that I didn’t have to sort through a million paint chips to pick a color is what sold me on this project.
After picking my trim paint color, Seize the Gray, everything I needed to paint a TV console was sent to me in one box. The paint can opener, mixer, and top-of-the-line brush was all I needed to get started. I had so much paint leftover from painting the TV console. So,I decided to paint our wood baker’s rack in my kitchen/dining room. My Father-in-Law built this baker’s rack for us over 20 years ago. It was originally painted white. However, after visiting 86 Cannon in Charleston, I knew I wanted to change things up and find a new color for it.
Clare contacted me at the perfect time!
Below, is a photo from 86 Cannon’s cafe. It was the inspiration behind me picking out the Clare paint color, Seize the Gray. I loved the color of the round table in the middle of the room. And I wanted to add that color to my home. First, I painted our family room TV console my husband built a few years ago. Then I painted the baker’s rack when I realized there was enough paint to cover that as well.
Here’s the baker’s rack all painted in it’s new hue! I love the way it looks with some of my favorite cake pedestals for entertaining! It’s got a little rustic charm to it that I still enjoy.
Here’s the before photo of the TV console in white.
Here’s the after photo! It looks so much better painted in the trim color, Seize the Gray.
I still have more styling to do now that it has a new color, so stay tuned for more on this summer paint project!
