Designing My Dream Coastal Home: The Guest Bedroom

Hi friends! I’m back today with the second edition of my Designing My Dream Coastal Home series, where I share design ideas inspired by the timeless coastal style I love so much. It made me so happy to hear that so many of you were inspired by the pieces I featured in the first edition. Thank you for all of your kind messages!

For this edition, I’m sharing a guest room design that I’m actually bringing to life in my own home. I already ordered the twin bed frames from Walmart, and I couldn’t be happier with them. I originally fell in love with a pair from Serena & Lily, but they weren’t in my budget. After doing a little more searching, I found these beautiful twin beds at Walmart for an incredible price. They arrived quickly, were surprisingly easy to put together, and honestly look so much more expensive than they are.

For the bedding, I’m using quilts and matching shams from Serena & Lily that I already own. The blue trim is so classic and coastal, and they’re unbelievably soft. I have the same quilt in all white on my own bed and absolutely love it. Living in Florida, quilts are the perfect choice because they’re lightweight, comfortable year-round, and easy to wash.

I also have a Serena & Lily table lamp that I purchased a few years ago, and it’s going to work beautifully in this space. I paired it with a simple white nightstand to brighten the room and complement the bedding. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a rattan mirror for that natural coastal texture that always makes a room feel warm and inviting.

To finish the space, I chose a beautiful blue patterned rug that will sit beneath the twin beds. It adds just the right amount of color, softness, and charm while making the room feel cozy and welcoming for family and guests.
