Designing My Dream Coastal Home: The Family Room

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

I’ve been on such a home refresh kick lately that I decided to start a fun new series called Designing My Dream Coastal Home. In each post, I’ll be dreaming up a different space using a mix of pieces I already own, along with timeless finds that are currently on my wish list.

For the first room, I chose the family room because it’s where we spend so much of our time together. I wanted the space to feel light, cozy, classic, and effortlessly coastal.

The inspiration all started when I spotted this gorgeous new sofa from Pottery Barn. It’s available in several fabrics, but I immediately fell in love with the chambray performance rustic linen. Lately I’ve been thinking our family room is ready for a chaise sectional. Something that’s just as beautiful as it is comfortable for movie nights, reading, or simply relaxing together.

A few of these pieces are already in my home, including the rattan floor lamp that I can’t stop talking about. It’s absolutely stunning, incredibly well made, and one of those timeless coastal pieces I know I’ll enjoy for years. I also own these linen pillows in another color, but I think the seagrass shade would look so pretty layered on this sofa.

Another favorite is the bone picture frames from my newest coastal home obsession, Cailini Coastal. They’re elegant, classic, and the kind of accessories that instantly make a room feel collected.

To finish the space, I added a beautiful natural rug, a woven coffee table, shell hurricanes, and a coral mirror. These items give the room just the right amount of coastal charm without feeling overdone.

All in all, this is the kind of family room I love most. It’s light, cozy, timeless, and designed for everyday living. It’s a space where our family could gather, relax, and make memories together, while still feeling beautiful enough to enjoy every time I walk into the room.
