Desi’s Summer Sunday
I had every intention of sharing a new Desi’s Summer Saturday post yesterday, but I got completely distracted and ended up switching closets with my husband. It definitely wasn’t on my Saturday to-do list, but once I started, I couldn’t stop. Twelve hours later, I made a lot of progress…and there’s still more to do!
One of the blessings of running my little business is receiving beautiful gifts from brands to feature here on the blog and across social media. The downside is that my small walk-in closet simply couldn’t keep up anymore. I realized it made much more sense for my husband to take the walk-in closet since he still has plenty of room, while I moved my wardrobe into one of our sons’ former bedrooms, which has slowly become my office and now playroom.
It’s definitely a work in progress, but I’m excited to create a space that’s more functional for everything I do each day. I’ll be sure to share updates once it all comes together!
Another little project I’m working on is creating a combined office and playroom for my grandson. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered this beautiful blue rug while it was on sale, and I finally rolled it out yesterday. It’s even prettier in person, and I’m absolutely loving the shade of blue.
I also organized his toys and books in this adorable set of three whale baskets from Cailini Coastal, which has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop for coastal home décor. I especially love supporting their small family-run business, and they have so many beautiful pieces.
Today we stopped by my son and daughter-in-law’s house to spend some time with them and my grandson. They have a large playpen with a padded mat on the bottom for him to play in, and I thought it was such a great idea. I immediately decided I want one for our house too, so I’ve been looking at this one to order for our playroom. Their large play yard looks similar to this one.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here! and it’s one of my favorite times of the year to stock up on everyday essentials I’ll use for months to come. I always look for undergarments, beauty favorites, hair tools, and workout shorts, along with a few timeless wardrobe pieces. I’m also excited to see one of my favorite bags, which I already own in blue, available in a gorgeous new color for fall. If you’ve been waiting to refresh your basics or treat yourself to a few new favorites, this sale is a great time to do it.
