The Ultimate Spring Break Beauty Routine for Glowing Skin
Step 1: Cleanse Your Skin
The first step in any beauty routine is to cleanse your skin. Cleansing removes dirt, oil, and impurities from your skin, allowing your other skincare products to penetrate deeper into your skin. For a deep cleanse, use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip your skin of its natural oils. Look for a cleanser that suits your skin type, whether it’s dry, oily, or combination skin. I recommend Colleen Rothschild Gradient Cleansing Balm that I’ve been using for years. It clears congested pores and removes impurities while dissolving all traces of makeup, leaving skin balanced, soft, and radiant. I also use the Cerave hydrating facial cleanser that hydrates and helps restore my skin’s protective barrier.
Step 2: Exfoliate Your Skin
The next step in the ultimate beauty routine for glowing skin is to exfoliate. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and helps to unclog pores, leaving your skin looking brighter and smoother. Choose an exfoliator that’s gentle on your skin, and use it once or twice a week. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can cause irritation and redness. My favorite products to use include the Colleen Rothschild Dual Enzyme Polish that gently but efficiently sloughs dull skin cells, leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed. I use it about twice a week. I also use the Colleen Rothschild Clarifying Detox Mask that helps our skin breathe a sigh of relief as it removes trapped dirt and debris. And for the lips, I recommend using this Colleen Rothschild Sugar Lip Scrub that gently exfoliates with sugar granules, removing dull skin buildup to enhance the appearance and texture of the lips.
Step 3: Apply a Toner
After cleansing and exfoliating your skin, it’s time to apply a toner. A toner helps to balance your skin’s pH levels, and it also helps to remove any remaining dirt or oil. Look for a toner that contains natural ingredients, such as witch hazel or rose water. These ingredients are gentle on your skin and won’t cause irritation. I love using the Matcha Tea Toner and the Micro Mineral Smoothing Toner. Both are gentle and leave my skin feeling refreshed.
Step 4: Use a Serum
Now it’s time to apply hydrating skincare products like a serum. A serum is a lightweight formula that’s packed with active ingredients. Serums are designed to target specific skin concerns, such as dullness, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation. Look for a serum that contains vitamin C, which is known for its brightening and anti-aging properties. Apply the serum all over your face, and don’t forget your neck. Some of my go-to serums that I use on rotation include these favorites by Colleen Rothschild; Face Oil N°9 is the ultimate in skin luxury, as it combines nine transformative oils that provide an intense moisture boost, deeply nourish thirsty skin, and leave your complexion radiant after the first application. The Retinol Supreme Night Oil refines skin tone and texture, fights age spots and improves dullness. In the morning, you will wake to find skin that is renewed and radiant. Hylaluronic Serum is a long-lasting moisture leaving thirsty skin feeling smooth, hydrated, plump and radiant. Age Renewal Super Serum helps to restore the skin’s complexion to its most youthful radiance and texture.
Step 5: Apply Eye Cream
The skin around your eyes is delicate and prone to fine lines and wrinkles. To keep this area looking youthful, apply an eye cream. Eye creams are specially formulated to hydrate and brighten the under-eye area. Look for an eye cream that helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles. I use the Colleen Rothschild Complete Eye Cream and see a noticeable difference as dark circles and puffiness begin to diminish while fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced.
Step 6: Moisturize Your Skin
The final step in the ultimate beauty routine for glowing skin is to moisturize. Moisturizing is essential for keeping your skin hydrated and healthy. Choose a moisturizer that’s lightweight and non-greasy, so it won’t clog your pores. My favorite moisturizer to use on a daily basis day and night is the Colleen Rothschild Sheer Renewal Cream that provides continuous weightless hydration and promotes new cell turnover to help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Step 7: Don’t Forget Sunscreen
Speaking of sunscreen, it’s crucial to wear sunscreen every day, especially when you’re spending time outdoors. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, and apply it liberally to your face and body. Reapply every two hours, or more often if you’re swimming or sweating. A good option is this Colleen Rothschild Triple Defense Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 40. Here’s how to use it: Apply daily to face, neck and décolleté after you cleanse, tone, and moisturize and before makeup application. Be sure to let dry completely before moving onto the next step in your routine.
Step 8: Drink Plenty of Water
While skincare products can help to improve your skin’s appearance, it’s also essential to take care of your skin from the inside out. Drinking plenty of water can help to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water a day, and avoid sugary drinks and alcohol, which can dehydrate your skin. I love using my Stanley Quencher when I’m home and on the go, because it keeps my water cold, however feel free to use any cup to make sure you’re staying hydrated throughout the day.
Step 9: Eat a Healthy Diet
In addition to drinking plenty of water, it’s important to eat a healthy diet. Foods that are rich in antioxidants, such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts, can help to protect your skin from damage and promote healthy skin. Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks, which can cause inflammation and breakouts. Here are some healthy meal ideas I shared on the blog when I was on a whole food diet. During that time my skin looked AMAZING and it was all because I was eating a dairy free, gluten free, and sugar free diet.
Step 10: Get Plenty of Sleep
Finally, getting enough sleep is essential for healthy, glowing skin. Lack of sleep can cause dark circles, puffiness, and dull skin. Aim to get at least seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and try to establish a bedtime routine to help you wind down and relax before bed. I believe that great sleep is enhanced by quality sleepwear, so I’m sharing the best sleepwear made of exceptional fabrics like Pima cotton. These are the ultimate pajamas that I reach for and sleep in every night, and I also take them with me on all of my vacations. There’s something so relaxing about crawling into bed each night wearing these soft pajamas.
Preparing your skin for spring break doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. By following these simple steps, you can achieve healthy, glowing skin in no time. Remember to cleanse, exfoliate, tone, apply serum and eye cream, moisturize, wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water, eat a healthy diet, and get enough sleep. With these tips, you’ll be ready to enjoy your spring break with confidence and radiant skin.
