I Tried On 7 J.Crew Looks I’d Actually Pack for Nantucket—Here’s What Made the Cut

I Tried On 7 J.Crew Looks I’d Actually Pack for Nantucket—Here’s What Made the Cut

Every summer, as our trip to Nantucket gets closer, I start mentally packing. I picture strolls down cobblestone streets, dinners on candlelit porches, and mornings spent walking to grab a cappuccino by the harbor. And this year, I knew I wanted to keep my wardrobe easy, coastal, and classic—with pieces I’ll love wearing over and over again.

So I popped into J.Crew (of course) and tried on a few things that felt very me—elevated but relaxed, timeless with a touch of charm. Here’s what made the cut for my suitcase (and what I’ll be reaching for all summer long):

I Tried On 7 J.Crew Looks I’d Actually Pack for Nantucket—Here’s What Made the Cut

1. Floaty Midi Dress in Block Print Cotton Voile

This dress is pure sunshine. Light as air, with a subtle boho feel thanks to the block print. It’s the kind of dress you pack first because you know you’ll want to wear it every day. I also ordered it in the blue stripe. Fits true to size.

Ideal for picnics at Brant Point or twirling through town with a cone of lemon sorbet.

2. Palermo Top in Ramie

Light, breezy, and so feminine. I love the texture of this ramie top—easy to dress up with white jeans or wear with linen shorts. Ramie is a nice alternative to linen and the print is so New England summer. Fits true to size.

I’ll wear this to brunch with my straw hat and oversized sunnies.

3. White Wide-Leg Jeans with Stacked Buttons

I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of white jeans, and these are so flattering. The stacked buttons add that vintage sailor vibe I love, and they go with everything. I recommend going down a size in these.

I’ll wear them with striped sweaters or breezy tops for coastal strolls and sunset cocktails.

4. Ravenna Dress in White Ramie

An easy yes. This dress is light but lined, with just enough structure to feel polished. I immediately thought of pairing it with flat leather sandals for dinner at Galley Beach. Fits true to size.

The kind of dress you can throw on and instantly feel like your best summer self.

5. Montauk Relaxed Cardigan

This gave me total classic fisherman sweater vibes—in the best way. It’s soft, slouchy in all the right places, and perfect for cool Nantucket mornings or layering over a slip dress at night. Fits oversized, so I went down a size.

One of those pieces you’ll keep in your wardrobe forever.

6. Tiered Tie-Waist Dress in Block Print

This one surprised me—in the best way. The tie waist makes it super flattering, and the tiered shape gives it that easy, romantic look I love. It’s also incredibly comfortable. Fits true to size.

Feels like something you’d wear barefoot in the backyard with rosé in hand (or dressed up for a date night).

7. Open-Back Halter Top

This was a fun one! So cute with high-waisted pants or a skirt. I love the idea of wearing it to a casual dinner or even layering it under a light sweater during the day. I ordered it in the dusty peri color. Fits true to size. (I’m wearing an XS here and ordered it in size small)

It gives “effortlessly chic summer” in a very Nancy Meyers kind of way.

Have you found your go-to summer outfit yet? Which one of these would you wear first?
