The One Thing I’m Glad I Packed for Alaska

I’m back from our Alaskan cruise, and it was truly a dream! I still can’t believe we finally made it happen. It’s a trip my husband’s family has talked about taking for years, and it was even more special because our 9-month-old grandson came along with us. I honestly think he handled the travel better than the rest of us! Ha ha! That little guy stole everyone’s heart, and we’re completely smitten with him.
I’ll have to share a full trip recap soon, but today I wanted to talk about one of the best things I packed: a raincoat. Alaska’s weather can change in an instant, and I reached for mine every single day.

Squall Hooded Waterproof Raincoat
My sweet friends at Lands’ End sent me two of their bestselling raincoats before the trip, and they could not have been more perfect for this adventure. Not only were they warm, waterproof, and comfortable, but they also folded up so easily without taking up much room in my suitcase or day bag.
The light blue raincoat is waterproof, windproof, and has reflective details that make it extra practical for travel and outdoor adventures. I also absolutely love the shade of blue—it feels so classic and coastal. Best of all, it’s currently on sale. If you’re planning any summer travels or simply want a great jacket to keep on hand for rainy days, this one is definitely worth a look.

Packable Rain Parka
As always, I love a navy packable rain parka, and this one from Lands’ End was another perfect addition to my Alaska packing list. It’s waterproof, windproof, and packs into its own pocket, making it incredibly convenient for travel and everyday wear.
To be honest, there were times on the ship when the wind was absolutely whipping, and I watched plenty of people trying to battle the cold. Meanwhile, I felt comfortable and protected in both of my Lands’ End raincoats. They were truly made for weather like this.
One thing I appreciate about Lands’ End is how much they listen to their customers when designing their outerwear. These jackets are thoughtfully made with real-life adventures in mind, whether you’re taking an Alaskan cruise, exploring a coastal town, or simply running errands on a rainy day.
I honestly wouldn’t leave home without one if there’s even a chance of questionable weather. This navy beauty is also on sale right now, and I love its classic nautical look. It’s the kind of timeless layer you’ll reach for year after year and one that pairs perfectly with all your favorite coastal-inspired outfits.
