Hey Desiree! I have a question for you. I love your sisal rug and saw you linked it to Amazon (the picture from yesterday with the pink coat). I am wondering if it is soft texture? Sisal is usually hard so I wasn’t sure if it is suitable for kids to crawl on. What do you think? Thanks!!
Hi there! My sisal rug has gotten softer over time, but I don’t think it’s soft enough for kids to crawl on. My boys are adults now, however I wouldn’t have bought it when they were little. If you want the sisal look you can buy a big sisal rug, then place a smaller soft rug on top where your kids can have enough space to crawl.
I always have a hard time figuring out what to buy for my teenage boys and I know you have boys too. Are you going to do a gift guide for guys?
I created a gift guide for him last Friday and I made sure to include some things for teenage boys on up. I hope you find this gift guide helpful.
Hi Desiree! I love reading your blog! It’s the first place I visit online every morning! I was wondering if you would consider sharing what kind of books you read?
You’re so sweet! I would love to share what I read with you. Most of the books I read are Christian books, because I’m always looking for more inspiration in my faith journey with the Lord. I’m actually at a conference this weekend in Boston and my friend bought me a book by Patricia King (who was a speaker here this weekend) called, God’s Anti-Aging Plan. It’s shares the secret to fullness, vitality and purpose for those in the second half of life. *You inspired me to do a full post next week on what I’m reading, so stay tuned!
I notice in some of your Instagram photos that you have a beautiful white sofa. Where is it from and is it practical for everyday use?
I have the Carlisle sofa from Pottery Barn. I ordered it online over two years now and absolutely love it. The slipcovers are washable. I wash them a few times a year and so far they’ve held up. I just make sure to follow the instructions on how to take care of them. My boys are older and we really don’t eat on the sofa, so that helps to keep it clean. They’re comfy and add a great beach house look that I love.
Desiree! You always have the cutest coffee mugs! Can you recommend some new Christmas mugs you found this year? I love to give them away to my friends as gifts.
I just ordered two of them recently and can’t wait for them to arrive. One of them is a joy tree coffee mug and the other is a holiday village thermal mug by Kate Spade. I think both of these would be so cute to give away as gifts.
